Dr. Alexey Root

Using the demonstration board, Alex showed one of his losses from the Texas Scholastic Chess Championships to the Denton High School chess club. As is usual when presenting chess games, pairs of students followed the game on their boards.

Alex paused his showing of the game at several points so that student pairs could analyze what should happen next at each of those junctures. As Alex said, about students presenting games, "We're working on our public speaking skills too, right?"
